Ingredient Transparency
This page explains how we verify formulas, what we do and do not claim, why we never infer ingredients, and how to read an INCI list yourself.
For the ingredients themselves, see the Ingredient Dictionary; for the hero peptide, see What Is GHK-Cu?.

Clear answer
Every ingredient statement on the site is taken from the product's verified INCI — the list on the current packaging or supplier documentation. That verified list is the single source of truth. We describe each ingredient's cosmetic role from it, and we keep product titles, categories and ingredient copy internally consistent with it.
When a formula is updated, the INCI is re-verified before the copy changes. Product pages carry each item's full INCI so you can always check the source for yourself.
We do not reconstruct an ingredient list from marketing copy, an older version, a similar product or a supplier example. If we cannot verify it, we do not publish it.

What this means in plain English
We make cosmetic claims only. That means we describe how ingredients support the look and feel of skin, scalp and hair — firmness, texture, hydration, comfort, density — not medical outcomes. GHK-Cu is positioned around scalp condition, renewal signalling and the environment surrounding the hair follicle; it is not presented as blocking DHT, regrowing hair or treating any condition.
We do not invent clinical trials, guaranteed outcomes, fixed timelines, certifications, awards or manufacturing facts. Where evidence exists at the ingredient level, we say so and keep it separate from claims about the finished product.
Product role
Know whether the product cleanses, moisturises, conditions, supports the scalp or works as the hero serum step.
Routine order
A clear order prevents random product stacking and makes the routine easier to follow.
Next step
The page should help the customer choose a CopperTheory product, not just read a definition.
Best CopperTheory routine order
Each formula is documented per product. The full INCI appears on the product page, and the role of each key ingredient is explained in the Ingredient Dictionary. The hero peptide, Copper Tripeptide-1, is common across the range; the supporting ingredients vary by product and are stated per verified INCI.
We distinguish the branded ingredient pairing from a branded raw-material name: the hair formula's Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 with Red Clover is described as an ingredient pairing for fuller density, not by any branded complex name we have not confirmed.
Key points
- Cleanse first so the skin is ready for serum.
- Apply GHK-Cu Face Serum as the copper peptide step.
- Follow with GHK-Cu Face Cream for hydration, comfort and barrier support.
- Use sunscreen during the day, especially when your routine includes active-style ingredients.
- Introduce retinol, strong vitamin C or exfoliating acids slowly instead of stacking everything at once.
What to pair and what to separate
Some products — for example, items that are out of stock — do not yet have a verified current INCI on file. For those, we do not list, infer or borrow ingredients from a similar product. Their ingredient sections stay blocked until the verified INCI is supplied, and they are not described as containing any specific ingredient.
This is deliberate. Guessing an ingredient list would be inaccurate and unfair to you. Holding it is the honest choice, even when it means a page is temporarily less complete.
Easy support steps
Hydration, moisturiser, gentle cleansing, conditioner or sunscreen can make the routine easier to follow.
Use caution
Retinol, strong acidic vitamin C, exfoliating acids, heavy oils and too many new products at once can make the routine harder to judge.
Patch test
Patch test when introducing new skincare or scalp care, especially if your skin or scalp reacts easily.
Common mistakes to avoid
An INCI list is ordered roughly by amount, from most to least (with some rules for lower-percentage ingredients). Water (Aqua) is usually first; the actives you are seeking — like Copper Tripeptide-1 — often sit further down but are still meaningfully present.
Reading the list yourself is the best transparency there is. Every CopperTheory product page shows its full INCI so you can match what we say about an ingredient to where it actually appears.
Key points
- Using too many active-style products on the same day
- Skipping moisturiser after serum
- Forgetting sunscreen in the morning
- Changing products every few days before judging the routine
- Treating copper peptides like a guaranteed overnight result
How to judge results without guessing
We separate two kinds of evidence. Ingredient-level evidence is research on an ingredient in general; finished-product evidence is testing of a specific product. We may reference the former in cosmetic terms, but we never present ingredient-level research as if it were a clinical result for a CopperTheory product.
Where research is early or mixed, we use the strongest wording that stays accurate, rather than overstating certainty. The aim is copy you can trust, not copy that oversells.
Week one
Judge comfort, product feel, irritation, heaviness and whether the product order is easy.
First month
Judge consistency, hydration, texture, scalp comfort, application habits and whether the routine is realistic.
Longer term
Judge the overall routine, not a single random use.
Who this is best for
This matters to anyone comparing products or checking what they are putting on their skin and scalp. Use the Ingredient Dictionary to understand roles, the product pages to see full INCI, and this page to understand how we decide what to claim.
If you ever find a discrepancy between our copy and a product's packaging, the packaging is the source of truth — tell us and we will correct it.
Key points
- Customers comparing copper peptide products
- Customers building a skincare or haircare routine
- Customers who want clear product order
- Customers who want fewer confusing steps
- Customers choosing between single products and complete routines

Ingredient Transparency FAQ
How do you verify a product's ingredients?
From the current packaging or supplier INCI — the verified list is the single source of truth. We do not reconstruct it from marketing copy, older versions or similar products.
Why are some products missing an ingredient list?
If a product's current INCI is not yet verified (for example, an out-of-stock item), we hold its ingredient section rather than guess. It is unblocked as soon as the verified INCI is supplied.
Do you make medical or clinical claims?
No. We make cosmetic claims about the look and feel of skin, scalp and hair. We do not claim to treat conditions, block DHT, regrow hair or guarantee results.
Do you publish ingredient concentrations?
No. We describe each ingredient's cosmetic role but do not publish concentrations, branded raw-material claims or clinical results.
How should I read an INCI list?
It is ordered roughly from most to least. Water is usually first; actives often sit lower but are still present. Every product page shows its full INCI so you can check.
What if the website and packaging disagree?
The packaging is the source of truth. Let us know and we will correct the copy.
Are the supporting ingredients just fillers?
No. Each CopperTheory formula is built around one hero — the GHK-Cu copper peptide (Copper Tripeptide-1) — and the supporting ingredients are chosen for a specific cosmetic role: humectants for hydration, panthenol and allantoin for comfort, niacinamide for barrier and texture support. They are named from the verified INCI and described by what they do, not added as padding.
Should I use sunscreen?
Yes. Use sunscreen during the day as the final morning step.
